[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;3_4,1_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;3_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Purpose and scope&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||0px|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Purpose<\/h2>\n<p>The purpose of this procedure is to outline the requirements for new employees working on all work sites.<\/p>\n<p>It ensures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>all activities are covered in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>the smooth transition of tasks<\/li>\n<li>prevents overlooked or duplicated training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All work must be carried out in accordance with WHS Act, 2012 (SA), WHS Regulations 2012 (SA), Codes of Practice, Plumbers, Gasfitters and Electricians Act 1995, Development Act 1993, and the Building Code of Australia.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_search _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_search][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; background_color=&#8221;#F5F5F5&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;H2 text to accordion grey backgorund&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>Process<\/h2>\n<p>The employee\u2019s site manager or supervisor is to complete and return the Site induction checklist to PEER Construction.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_accordion admin_label=&#8221;Accordion grey background&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Site manager or supervisor responsibilities&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The site manager or supervisor must ensure the new employee is provided with a structured and planned induction.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completing the pre commencement checklist with adequate time to prepare before the employee starts.<\/li>\n<li>Allocating sufficient time to induct the employee.<\/li>\n<li>Providing the employee with guidance and assistance on the induction process.<\/li>\n<li>Providing the employee with an understanding of the functions and operations of the work that they are assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Outlining the specific responsibilities and tasks required for their effective performance in the position.<\/li>\n<li>Providing the employee with a clear understanding of their responsibilities and the behaviour expected of PEER Construction employees.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and coordinating specific training, especially technical or safety training, that is required for effective job performance.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the employee is provided with support, and their progress though the induction process is monitored.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring any special needs of a new employee is met.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring all topics in the checklists (as applicable) are completed and approved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Employee responsibilities&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;on&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Under the Work Health Safety Act 2012 (SA) an employee, must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>take reasonable care of their own health and safety<\/li>\n<li>take reasonable care that their acts do not adversely affect the safety of other<\/li>\n<li>comply, where reasonably able, with reasonable instructions given<\/li>\n<li>comply with reasonable policies and procedures relating to health or safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Employees are not required to carry out work which they believe places themselves or others at risk. If this situation arises, employees must stop work and inform their supervisor immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Employees must pay attention to the induction and be aware of the safe work practices for PEER Construction to establish a healthy and safe environment.
