You must apply this procedure to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>all types of projects and drawings throughout the entire project cycle.<\/li>\n<li>plans and drawings (regardless of format) prepared for the construction and\/or maintenance at PEER Construction. This includes any technical document of an illustrative nature and sketches.<\/li>\n<li>all such documents, whether produced in house or by external contractors or consultants for works under the control of PEER Construction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_search _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_search][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; background_color=&#8221;#F5F5F5&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text 1 grey background&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Process<\/h2>\n<p>Mark out hand tools include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>steel ruler, pencil, scriber, felt tip marker and scratch gauge<\/li>\n<li>engineer\u2019s chalk, chalk line, chalk and centre punch marks<\/li>\n<li>try square, engineers square, combination square, roofing square and sliding bevel<\/li>\n<li>marking gauge, mortise gauge, range meter, divider and trammel<\/li>\n<li>spring dividers, retractable tape, callipers and compass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When marking out<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose the right marking out tool for the job. Tools vary widely and each is designed for a specific purpose.<\/li>\n<li>Never misuse or abuse any of the accurately machined hand tools designed for marking out.<\/li>\n<li>Record all measurements, calculation or totals clearly and accurately, using the correct units.<\/li>\n<li>Carefully handle and align your ruler, try square, sliding bevel or marking gauge, etc. Take the time to \u201cmeasure twice \u2013 cut once\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and calculate the quantity, size and type of all materials and tools that will be required for the job and complete the PEER Construction materials order form.<\/li>\n<li>Complete a serviceability check of all tools and equipment prior to work commencing.<\/li>\n<li>Leave the work area in a safe, clean and tidy condition.<\/li>\n<li>Return all marking out hand tools to their appropriate storage cupboard, in a dry environment.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly clean and maintain marking out hand tools.<\/li>\n<li>Adjust and sharpen marking gauges and mortise gauges as required.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly maintain marking out tools to ensure continued accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Inspect and clean all squares.
