This document outlines the procedure for installing a Rheem Tankpak 2 Manifold system.
Purpose

Process
The process has the following components.
Installation
Refer to the Rheem Tankpak installation instructions if required during installation.
- Locate the system as per AS/NZ 5601.1 ensuring adequate clearance from ignition sources and openings.
- Ensure the flueing installation is compliant.
- Fix down the manifold unit with the fixings that are recommended in the Rheem Tankpak series 2 installation guide.
- Install the pipework and associated valves from the supply to the manifold pump.
- Install the hot pipework from the outlet to the shower rose test station.
- Install both relief lines so they discharge over the tundish and have the required air gap.
- Install the flues, ensuring they are adequately secured and plumb.
- Ensure the installation is compliant with the standard outlined in the Rheem Tankpak series 2 installation guide, AS /NZ 3500.4 and AS / NZ 5601.1.
Commission the system
- Check the gas supply line for leaks by spraying soapy water over all the joints.
- Test the gas supply pressure (static) to ensure it is sufficient according to the badge plate.
- Clean out the line strainer of any debris. This will need to be repeated after the unit has been fully commissioned.
- Switch manifold unit on at the power source. The controller will read “on”.
- Set the controller to 65°C.
- Bleed the air from the system through the shower heads.
- Monitor the temperature rise displayed on the controller screen. The pump will cut out when the temperature reaches 65°C.
- Test the water temperature by placing a thermometer under the water running from a shower rose.
- Adjust the controller (if necessary) to achieve the correct temperature of the water being delivered.
- Check the operation of the flue assembly to ensure the products of combustion are being exhausted effectively.
- Shut down the system once all the commissioning process has been completed.
- Dismantle and clean all debris out from the line strainer.
- Complete the Commissioning Sheet.
