Course Aim
This course provides the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to install, inspect, test and certify structured cabling installations (Category 5/5e/6) to the ACMA technical standards and to Australian Standard AS3080.

Modules
This 2 day accelerated course covers:
- NTC019 Structured Cabling (Copper Cabling)
This module studies the relevant sections of AS3080 and its companion standards - AS3084 & AS3085. The student will become aware of the concepts of structured cabling installations and how they are installed and inspected to pass the testing and certification requirements. On successful completion participants will be issued with Competency Statement ICTTC009 which is the requirement for the Structured Cabling endorsement on an Open Registration.
Pre-Requisites
- Familiarity with the contents of AS/ACIF S009:2006
NOTE: IT specialists who wish to learn about the principles of structured cabling are welcome to attend, however, this module does not entitle them to install cabling without an Open Registration.
Structure
- This course will involve theory, practical and assessment
Students will need the following
- Pens/pencils
- Basic hand tools (side cutters, small sheath stripper, krone and 110 tools)
- Own copy of AS3080:2003 if you have one (PEER can provide loan copies for the course duration)
