Course Aim
This course provides the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to install, terminate, inspect, test and certify optical fibre installations to the ACA technical standards and to Australian Standard AS3080.

Modules
This accelerated course covers:
- NTC021 Optical Fibre Cabling
The module studies the basic construction, termination, splicing, installation and testing of fibre optic cable used for customer cabling. Approximately half the course is hands on practical where students prepare cables for termination, fit connectors, splice cables and use specialised test equipment.
On successful completion participants will be issued with Competency Statement ICTTC010 which is the requirement for the Optical Fibre endorsement on an Open Registration.
NOTE: This module does not entitle the student to perform cabling work without an appropriate cablers registration. This is a TITAB approved module. Students wishing to work on Telstra / Optus or other carriers street cables must confirm with the carrier that this module meets their requirements.

- Own copy of AS3080:2006 if possible (PEER has loan copies available for the module duration)
