Course Aim
This course is suitable for all trades and is compiled in two stages. The first provides basic estimating skills and the second will build on this to enable students to prepare a professional estimate for tender. The course theory is built to be generic with the assessment project completed specific for your trade.

- Interpret project drawing, symbols, specification and associated documents.
- Analyse contractual obligations and the significance of various contract documents.
- Identify, differentiate and compare tenders, estimates and quotations.
- Record and tabulate materials and labour units.
- Analyse commercial considerations and determine break even points.
Upon completion the student will be familiar with the components of a contract, tendering documents, estimations and quotation, schedule of rates, bills of quantities, labour units, project drawings, specifications and project management.
