In addition to on-the-job training, most Apprentices also attend a TAFE or other organisation for further training. For that reason, the Australian Government has introduced Apprenticeship Training (Fee) Vouchers which reimburse up to $500 of the cost of course fees that have been paid in each of the first and second years of your Australian Apprenticeship.
What are Apprenticeship Training (Fee) Vouchers?
Apprenticeship Training (Fee) Vouchers are available to be used by Australian Apprentices undertaking an eligible Australian Apprenticeship in a trade experiencing a skills shortage, or by their employers, to help meet the cost of course fees associated with their Australian Apprenticeship.
Am I Eligible?
If you are an Australian Apprentice undertaking an eligible Australian Apprenticeship, and started your first or second Apprenticeship year on or after 1 July 2007, you will be able to apply for a training voucher.
